How does one of Singapore’s pioneer social enterprise balance the responsibilities and commitment to “Social”, with the spirit and rigour of “enterprise”? From charting history, aligning vision, provoking thought, and articulating core values—we worked in harmony with Foreword’s founders to finally co-create a brand that resonates, guides, and announces all that Foreword is to its people, customers, and supporters.
A New Chapter Begins
Just like the opening pages of a great book, Foreword Coffee’s rebrand begins with intention and heart. Inspired by their name’s literary roots, this new chapter isn’t just a design update—it’s a bold rewrite of their brand’s story. With BrandPilot guiding the way, we helped craft a visual identity that mirrors their values, mission, and the warm conversations they brew daily.


Brand Identity
Inspired by the warmth of roasted beans and the comfort of shared moments, Foreword Coffee’s new visual identity is steeped in heart. The colour palette evokes cosy mornings and slow sips, while soft, warm tones mirror the nature of the café’s inclusive mission.
Oh hello there, Bean!
We introduced a charming mascot for Foreword Coffee—a walking coffee bean—designed to embody the brand’s warmth and approachability. Affectionally and simply called “Bean”, it’s the friendly face and embodiment of the brand, giving character to it both literally and figuratively. Accompanied by a series of illustrations applied across social media, packaging, merchandise, and campaigns, we’re building a recognisable IP that opens more conversations and opportunities over cups of coffee.


From Concept to Counters
The rebrand doesn’t just live on screens—it comes to life in Foreword’s physical cafés. From bold terracotta counters that echo the heart of the brand, to a 3D logo crafted from recycled milk cartons, every element is intentional, tactile, and true to purpose. These spaces invite you in—not just for coffee, but for community.

Accessibility isn’t an afterthought — it’s woven into every detail of Foreword Coffee’s brand experience. From designing menus that are easy to navigate for the hearing impaired to creating inclusive spaces and visuals, we approached this project with intentional care and precision.

Translating Foreword Coffee’s refreshed brand into marketing collateral was all about clarity, consistency, and impact. From eye-catching promotional posters to engaging Instagram content, informative videos, and the website itself, every piece carries the unmistakable warmth and personality of the brand.

Introducing The Rise and Grind Collection — where Foreword Coffee’s spirit wakes up and steps out. Whether you’re an early riser ready to lock in or a late-night thinker brewing your next big idea, this collection reminds you that every grind is a fresh start—and every step counts.

Working with Foreword Coffee meant more than just branding — we jumped right into their world, cups in hand. Together, we crafted two unique blends, A-ha! — the perfect kick for those “Eureka!” moments when ideas click, and The Lorem Ipsum Blend — a dependable, steady brew that’s like a trusted placeholder, always ready to fuel your creative flow.
These blends aren’t just coffee; they’re a toast to creativity, connection, and the messy magic behind great work.
